Wagga Guide has now officially exceeded 1 MILLION Page views! That's right - more than a million pages viewed so far in 2008.
Considering that each and every web page viewed counts as one page view, that's a lot of pages viewed for a regional site. This astounding figure is on top of the 10,00 regular users who visit the Wagga Guide business directory.
Wagga Guide has indeed been catching a lot of attention from people both in and out of Wagga. Just recently, Wagga Guide was added to the National Library of Australia's PANDORA ARCHIVE.
The Pandora Archive is the Australia's official web archive, which was set up by the National Library in 1996 to enable the archiving and provision of long-term access to online Australian publications.
The State Library of New South Wales was impressed with Wagga Guide's extensive coverage of the 2008 Local Government election and wanted to add the information appearing in Wagga Guide to the Pandora Archive.
According to the NSW State Library, the 2008 Local Government election is a significant event for the state, and the State Library have made it a priority to collect information appearing on Web sites such as Wagga Guide providing information to voters about parties, candidates and interest groups as well as media and commentary sites.
According to the NSW State Library, Wagga Guide, particularly the election-related information contained in the site, has been identified and considered as having "state significance".
So Wagga Guide has now been copied into the National Archive and and can now be publicly accessed via the archive.
